The end of an era?

I know, we have not posted for a long time. We have not had a computer for over two weeks now, we took it to the computer shop for a simple problem. When it came back, it would not even turn on! NO, we no longer recommend that shop like we have for a long time. Of course, it is nothing they did to it.
Anyway, we are using Dwight's laptop to check emails etc.
Maybe, this will be the time to give up blogging since so many of our fellow bloggers have quit. So, if we do quit, you can blame ones like Tim, Matt, Aaron, Laura and others.

Retirement Party!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of attending a retirement party for Lew Stoner. The Stoners attend our church and Lew worked at Standard Steel for 43 years.

Penns Creek Campmeeting 2009

Yes, it has been a long time since we posted. We were at our church conference and campmeeting for almost two weeks. We came home and have been trying to play catch-up ever since.
The Lord really helped, we heard many great sermons and had a lot of good fellowship.
We wanted to share some pictures of this year's camp.

Our home away from home - Nice!
The tabernacle was filled both Sunday nights!
A highlight each year is the
Lebanon Valley Gospel Band
playing the last Sunday evening.
A view of the tabernacle which is now air-conditioned.
That was such a blessing this year!
The Miller Dining Hall with a long, long line
Sunday at noon.
No, we were not in that line!
That is one of the blessings of being able
to eat in the trailer where we stay.

Zechman Hall - Another dormitory!

Busy - Busy - Busy

We have been very busy this past week, it all started when a tree on the church property broke during a storm and fell across the telephone lines. The phone company informed me it wasn't their problem, it was ours. The church board decided to get several other trees cut that could fall on the lines or on parked cars.

Tree across lines - notice how the pole is bowed!
Tom's Tree Trimming - cutting it off the lines.
It was interesting to watch this guy!
He said he loved it up there!
ROAD CLOSED AHEAD!
They dropped two trees across the road.
Lots of trees down, lots of wood to be cut up!
Dorothy helped by raking brush and leaves.
Yes, she did get a blister!
Actually, I enjoy this kind of work for a change!
Dave Plummer from our church got the wood.
Dave hard at work while his son Steve and me watch!
Really we were waiting to load the wood!

We are in tune!

Our good friend, Andy Cooley, came and tuned pianos this week. It was good to have the pianos tuned but the fun and fellowship was even better.

Another Project!!

Yes, we have been busy around the Lewistown parsonage trying to get some long overdue projects completed. This week's project was a new counter top and sink in the one bathroom. When the old sink started to leak, we had to do something in a hurry. So, here are some pics.

The demolition part is fun!

Darvin has a real problem with that job!

Rainbow!

WOW - What a rainbow!
Last evening we had a really hard rain, but when I looked to the west, the sun was shining. So, I hurried out front to see if there was a rainbow and there sure was! The picture does not show how beautiful it really was. You could actually see it shining on the church parking lot. This was the first time I ever could see the end of a rainbow, but I could not see no pot of gold!
